Beschreibung

Recognizing opportunities and mastering challenges

Many people have a sensitive side to them, but around 15-20% of the population are much more sensitive than others and perceive stimuli much more strongly - both physically and emotionally. These highly sensitive people perceive subtle details and make connections that others miss. They think a lot; they are empathetic and creative. By nature, they tend to go deep - a personality trait that is usually not understood by the average-sensitive majority in the fast-paced, always-on society of the 21st century.

During the 1990s, the American psychologist Elaine Aaron was the first to research high sensitivity in detail and her book ‘The Highly Sensitive Person’ (1997) made the topic accessible to a wider audience. Over the past ten years, high sensitivity has gained a great deal of attention. The good thing about this is that the term is no longer an alien concept to the general public and that certain stereotypical ideas have been dispelled. On the other hand, however, more prejudices have also emerged, not least due to the Woke movement that has appropriated high sensitivity and has had a negative influence on the discussion about high sensitivity in some instances.

In 21st-century society, where everything is getting faster, brighter, and louder, the pressure to perform is constantly increasing and buzzwords such as achievement, self-optimization and time management have become commonplace, highly sensitive people do not have it easy. In this society, strength, performance, resilience, and speed are among the most sought-after personality attributes.

As highly sensitive people cannot keep up with the pace of today‘s society due to their innate finer nervous system, they often feel stressed and misunderstood. However, highly sensitive people have rare and unique qualities that can benefit not only them, but also their fellow human beings.

Ziel

The one-day seminar is about understanding and strengthening the opportunities and potentials of high sensitivity and being able to deal better with the challenges (e.g. sensory overload).

After the seminar, participants will have a solid basic knowledge of high sensitivity, be aware of its challenges and recognize the opportunities and potential of high sensitivity.

Zielgruppe

The seminar is aimed at people who are highly sensitive themselves, have highly sensitive people in their private (e.g. partners of highly sensitive people or parents of highly sensitive children) or professional environment (employees, colleagues, clients, patients), work in social, educational, or medical institutions and/or are generally interested in high sensitivity, neurosensitivity and neurodiversity.
